Houston Rooftop First Look - Marmion Park Wedding

Alex + Jake

This lovely couple planned a small intimate wedding day and chose to do a first look downtown. Alex and Jake left the planning of the first look completely up to me so I thought what could be better than a rooftop location! Slightly logistically challenging but heck, lets go for it! Number one, the setting screams Houston/Big City! Number two, a rooftop gets us off the street level where its crawling with people. Who wants random strangers in your first look photos? lol Maybe in your engagement photos or wedding portraits, but not in your “First Look”! Moving on, Houston decided to bring us a lovely cold front moments before doing the first look. Dropped 15 degrees in 30 mins. Seriously, Houston? You know what, I like a challenge so bring it on! The wind we had today made the images that much more dramatic and everything went perfectly. Jake said the first look was his favorite moment of the entire wedding day. Did you hear that lovely brides out there? More reason to consider a first look!! I will be writing an article on REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD DO A FIRST LOOK. :)

Next were able to get a few photos on main street and then headed to Marmion Park in the Heights where they had their ceremony. I love the Heights! So charming and full of little gems here and there. You know every bride and groom are different but I really enjoy when I get to work couples who put priority on photos. Duh! :) Hey, we are making memories for a lifetime here, right!?

I’ll post photos from their cozy Sharespace reception later. Congrats Alex & Jake. You guys rock!
