ENGAGEMENT SESSION INFO

This is your love story so do your homework and decide on a vibe/theme that really fits your lifestyle or lovestory. I am here to help with things such as recommending the right locations, choosing the best time of day for good light, and coordinating your outfits/props. There are so many different ways we could go for your engagement session.  Some places are free of charge but some require a permit or entrance fee. If you are interested in an engagement session in another city or scenic location outside of Houston, let me know. I travel to Colorado and various other locations alot so I’m always down for new adventures!

What appeals to you?

  • Nature scenes/ parks with woods, fields with tall grass, or bodies of water.

  • Rustic/ country/ historic scenes with a barn/farm/ranch style feel.

  • Urban, big city feel with tall buildings, or skyline views.

  • Cozy coffee shops or restaurants have great ambiance and a lifestyle feel.

  • Homes, bedrooms, hotels, and club houses can be other cozy indoor options.

  • Sometimes your venue may be a great option to consider.

  • Industrial or warehouse feel with grungy, gritty textures with vintage elements such as exposed brick.

  • Artistic feel in Museum District or various spot with sculptures, paintings, and even wall art/graffiti.

  • Neighborhoods can be great in places at Boulevard Oaks, Rice Village, The Heights, for example.

  • Choose an activity/hobby/sport first and the place will come. Could be anything from Fishing to Top Golf.

During my sessions I recommend couples interact, touch, and connect as much as possible. Try to relax and do things you normally would do so the feeling of comfort and believability comes through. If you drink alcohol, feel free to have a shot or your favorite beverage before your session. So many of my couples are nervous and say “we are awkward in photos”, and then they do amazing. Trust me, I will make the whole process easy and enjoyable for you. You won’t ever have to wonder what is going on because I’ll be giving you direction from beginning to end. You hired me to have a plan and so I’ll be ready with plan A, B, & C.

You may bring a change of clothes if you like. Rich, contrasty colors photograph well but some neutral and pastel combinations work well.  Solids work better than extremely busy choices. For more on what to wear for your engagement session visit my FASHION PAGE.

You are welcome to bring any props you may have. An engagement session will last about 2hrs.  Multiple locations are permitted but try to choose places that aren't too far apart and require over 20 mins of travel.  I do have a pop-up changing tent as an option if anyone should ever need it. Just let me know ahead of time.

Always plan to arrive early to your session. Remember we live in Houston and you can’t predict traffic. Sometimes you will need to look for parking or walk to the meeting spot. If you arrive late this may reduce the amount of time we have in good light.

These are just a few notes to help guide you. Feel free to send me any pictures/ Pinterest ideas you have.

I love engagement sessions because they are so personal and unique to each couple!
